Schedulability Analysis and Performance Evaluation of WSAN

چکیده
The current trend in the development of Networked Control Systems (NCS) is the use of wireless networks to communicate the system nodes, which have been called Wireless Sensors and Actuators Networks (WSAN). This trend is principally to increase flexibility and reliability of these applications and to reduce the implementation cost. Several protocols have been used, however the latency and jitter presented in the transmission period produce that not always a similarity between experimental and simulation results can be obtained. This is because imprecise models for analyzing and designing these systems are used, and to make use of inadequate validation methods and platforms that do not support the models utilized. Therefore this paper presents a method to analyze end – to – end schedulability of WSAN, and evaluate the performance of case study using Medium Access Control (MAC) algorithms TDMA and CSMA – CA .

Schedulability Analysis of Distributed Real-Time Sensor Network Applications Using Actor-Based Model Checking
Many wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN) applications have real-time requirements. Programmers often use informal worst-case analysis and debugging to ensure schedules that satisfy these requirements. Not only can this process be tedious and error-prone, it is inherently conservative and thus likely to lead to an inefficient use of resources. We propose a model refinement based approach...
متن کاملEfficient Algorithms for Schedulability Analysis and Priority Assignment of Fixed-Offset Periodic Tasksets
Fixed-priority scheduling is the most common scheduling algorithm used in industry practice. Imposing fixed task release offsets is an effective technique for improving schedulability by avoiding the critical instant when all tasks are released simultaneously. In this paper, we address the problem of schedulability analysis and priority assignment for a periodic taskset with fixed-priority pree...

Wireless Sensor and Actor Networks (WSAN) are composed of large number of sensor nodes collaboratively observing a physical phenomenon and relatively smaller number of actor nodes, which act upon the sensed phenomenon. Due to the limited capacity of shared wireless medium and memory restrictions of the sensor nodes, channel contention and network congestion can be experienced during the operati...

متن کاملImproving computation efficiency of schedulability of transaction-based task model for distributed real-time embedded systems
In the transaction-based task model, the system consists of multiple end-toend transactions; each transaction consists of multiple tasks, with or without explicit precedence constraints; each task has a release offset (with possible release jitter) relative to the transaction start time. The transaction-based task model is especially useful for schedulability analysis in distributed real-time s...
